Who Run’s This Joint?

Jonas and Anna Tarlen with much help from family and friends…. If we are not out on skis with guests, we are most likely teaching avalanche courses, building/maintaining huts, cleaning bathrooms, shoveling snow, clearing trails, shuttling guests… or riding mountain bikes.

*What about Shane and Liz???

Shane Fox, one of the original founders of Three Sisters Backcountry is moving on to new adventures.  It took a talented person working insanely hard to help create this “snowbound village”.  All the skiers and friends who have enjoyed escaping into the woods can be grateful to Shane for his efforts and creativity.   Shane and his talented brothers have some other exciting projects in the works.  When we get more info to share, we will.

The heart and soul of our small, family-owned business is to share the beauty of backcountry skiing… and we absolutely love to ski tour.  That said, we are equally as excited and proud of the infrastructure we have worked so hard to create.  Everything from our hand build huts, sauna, haul trailers, custom snowpark office, mountains of firewood, remote bathrooms, and the establishment of  ski routes is the culmination of an insane amount of work both on and off the slopes.

We began offering backcountry skiing from our Raven & Owl Huts in the 2009/10 season, our Nordic Traverse begins for the 2014/15 season, and we have been teaching AIARE Avalanche Courses since 2005.

We hope you have a chance to escape from whatever hard work you are doing and let us host you in an amazing winter setting.

No Phone Number ???

We are often in the field, phone calls go to a irregularly checked voicemail.  Email goes to all of our staff’s fancy phones at the same time and we can respond easier.  If you want to talk on the phone, please email us your number and a good time to reach you.
